OhioHealth is seeking a compassionate, skilled Staff RN to serve as a Surgery/Endoscopy Nurse Circulator, supporting patients and surgical teams within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As a key member of the perioperative and endoscopy care team, you will provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care before, during, and after surgical and endoscopic procedures. In this role, you will function primarily as a circulating nurse, coordinating all aspects of care in the operating room and endoscopy suite while advocating for patients and their families. Working within OhioHealth’s not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare network, you will help carry out our mission of improving the health of those we serve across Ohio. You will conduct thorough pre-procedure assessments, verify patient identity and surgical site, review consents, allergies, and histories, and ensure that each patient understands their procedure and plan of care. During procedures, you will maintain a safe, aseptic environment; manage supplies, instruments, and equipment; document accurately in the electronic health record; and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, endoscopists, and fellow nurses to anticipate needs and respond quickly to changing patient conditions. As the circulating RN, you will oversee adherence to surgical safety checklists, support sterile technique, and ensure that all required equipment, implants, and medications are available, functioning, and used appropriately. You will monitor patient status, assist with positioning, support moderate sedation and anesthesia workflows within your scope, and communicate effectively with the wider care team. Following procedures, you will help transition patients safely to recovery or post-anesthesia care, provide patient and family education on post-procedure expectations, and reinforce discharge instructions to promote safe healing at home. OhioHealth fosters an inclusive, supportive culture grounded in compassion, respect, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and innovation in healthcare. As a Staff RN in Surgery/Endoscopy, you will collaborate with colleagues from a variety of disciplines, contribute to quality and safety initiatives, and participate in continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing patient experience and clinical outcomes. You will be encouraged to pursue ongoing professional development, specialty certifications, and learning opportunities that strengthen your clinical expertise in perioperative and endoscopy nursing. This position is based in a hospital and procedural setting and requires consistent on-site presence to provide direct patient care and hands-on support during surgeries and endoscopic procedures. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly technical environment, prioritizing multiple tasks, and remaining calm and organized under pressure. Typical responsibilities include pre- and intra-procedural assessments, medication administration within scope, IV management, documentation, infection prevention, equipment coordination, and active participation in emergency response situations when needed. OhioHealth offers the opportunity to grow professionally within a leading healthcare network, make a meaningful impact on community health, and be part of a team that values collaboration, integrity, and service. In addition to competitive compensation, nurses at OhioHealth can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement savings options, and access to wellness and educational resources. If you are a dedicated Registered Nurse with a passion for perioperative and endoscopy care, and you are looking to advance your career in a mission-driven organization, we invite you to consider joining OhioHealth as a Staff RN, Surgery/Endoscopy Nurse Circulator.
