The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution. Interventional Radiology encompasses three specialties, Radiology, Vascular Surgery, and Neuro Intervention, and performs C-arm guided procedures. The Interventional Radiology nurses are a key part of our comprehensive stroke team. Registered Nurses work closely with members of the Prep/Recovery and Procedure Lab staff to facilitate excellent patient care. The HVI offers several unique opportunities for personal and professional growth, flexible staffing options (i.e. cross-training, job sharing, minimal on-call shifts), HVI MD Lecture series (which includes free CEUs for staff), mentoring program (to support new hires and transfers), and educational events with various equipment and training.
Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Nursing (Required)
Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.
Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Evaluate and enhance your own nursing practice by utilizing the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope and Standards of Practice to provide direct 1:1 patient care to adult patients undergoing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Perform hemodynamic monitoring, identify potential life-threatening arrhythmias, and implement appropriate clinical treatment.
Enhance patient care activities and act as a safety advocate through participation in ongoing department quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects.
Coordinate safe care delivery through effective communication with a multi-disciplinary team.
Participate in a fun, supportive, collaborative environment while working as part of a cohesive 3-4 staff team, comprised of RNs and Radiology Technologists.
Manages care of patients during moderate sedation.
Understanding use of supplies and equipment used in various procedures.
