The Center for Specialized Surgery in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse Operating Room (OR Circulator) to join our outpatient ambulatory surgery center team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will function as the circulating nurse in the operating room, coordinating all aspects of patient care before, during, and immediately after surgical procedures in a modern, patient-focused setting. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for patients undergoing a variety of specialized outpatient procedures. Responsibilities include conducting pre-operative assessments, verifying patient identity and procedure details, reviewing consents, and ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functioning properly. During surgery, you will maintain a sterile, organized environment; manage documentation; advocate for the patient; monitor for changes in condition; support the surgical and anesthesia teams; and uphold all infection prevention and safety standards. Post-operatively, you will assist with transfer of care, provide patient and family education, and document all care accurately in the medical record. This position involves working in a structured Monday–Friday, daytime schedule typical of an ambulatory surgery center, with limited or no major holidays, weekends, or on-call responsibilities compared to hospital-based roles. Candidates should be comfortable supporting fast-paced surgical lists, working with multiple specialties, and contributing to continual quality improvement initiatives. You will have opportunities to deepen your perioperative nursing skills, participate in process improvements, and support a streamlined, patient-centered surgical experience. Qualified applicants will have current RN licensure, experience in the operating room or perioperative setting, and current BLS certification, with ACLS and PALS strongly preferred. Prior experience as an OR Circulator or in an ambulatory surgery center is highly valued.
