Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center - St. Charles is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse Operating Room Circulator to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will support high-quality outpatient surgical care in our state-of-the-art facility, ensuring each patient experiences a swift, safe, and comfortable perioperative journey. As an OR Circulator, you will coordinate and deliver nursing care before, during, and immediately after surgical procedures in our ambulatory setting. You will conduct pre-operative assessments, verify patient identity, surgical site, and consent, and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to prepare the operating room and necessary equipment. During procedures, you will act as the patient’s advocate, maintaining a safe, sterile environment, monitoring the patient’s condition, documenting care, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Post-operatively, you will support safe transfers, provide handoff communication to recovery staff, and reinforce discharge instructions as needed. You will work within a highly collaborative, team-based culture that emphasizes patient-focused care and open communication. The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable managing multiple cases in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center. Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and a commitment to evidence-based perioperative practice are essential. This position requires an active Registered Nurse license and current BLS certification, with ACLS and PALS strongly preferred. Experience in multi-specialty OR cases such as orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, general surgery, pain management, and GI is highly valued. Familiarity with AORN standards, infection prevention practices, and safe medication administration in the perioperative setting is important.
