Position Overview

We are engaging CDL-A Owner Operators with flatbed or step deck equipment to support freight movement focused on steel, construction materials, and industrial commodities throughout the Mid-Atlantic and surrounding regions. This role is structured for drivers who have experience handling open-deck freight and prefer to operate independently.

Drivers maintain full control over scheduling, routes, and load participation while ensuring compliance with transportation and safety standards.

Freight & Load Profile

Freight may include steel coils, beams, lumber, pipe, and construction materials. Loads may require securement using chains, straps, edge protection, and tarping depending on shipment specifications.

Freight availability varies based on regional demand, construction cycles, and equipment type.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a CDL-A commercial motor vehicle
• Properly secure loads using chains, straps, and tarps as required
• Ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Maintain accurate ELD logs and documentation
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Meet pickup and delivery requirements
• Communicate shipment status when required

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license
• Flatbed or step deck equipment meeting DOT standards
• Knowledge of load securement practices
• Active cargo and liability insurance
• Acceptable driving and safety history
• Authorization to work in the United States

Work Structure

This is a full time role. Drivers operate as independent business owners and are responsible for all operating expenses.

Freight volume and earnings vary based on market conditions and activity.
