About the company Our client is a government organisation that develops and maintains Australia’s measurement standards, providing testing and scientific services to support industry. About the role We are seeking a systematic and organised person to join the Bioanalysis laboratory in the Upper North Shore for an 18-month contract. You will be involved in using digital PCR methods, performing method validation, maintaining lab reagents, and arranging instrument calibrations. All training will be provided. Citizenship and security requirements: Australian citizenship, police check and baseline security clearance are required for this role. Duties Conduct DNA analysis on environmental and food samples using validated molecular methods Assist in preparing reports, protocols and general lab documentation Maintain lab supplies including reagents and consumables Coordinate sample and material shipments (domestic and international deliveries) Support the maintenance and calibration of scientific equipment Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and external stakeholders as required Ideal candidate Hands on experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR) A degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biomedical Science, or a related field Experience using and maintaining laboratory equipment Ability to produce quality work while prioritising workload and meeting timelines Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic data handling Proactive, self motivated approach with willingness to learn Eligibility You must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for this role This position requires a Baseline security clearance, which you will need to obtain and maintain As part of the role, you may handle biological materials such as human blood or wastewater.
