Advanced Manufacturing/Precision Machining Internship Opportunity F.I.T., Incorporated is offering an opportunity for a qualifying MCCC student, who is interested in a real-world manufacturing experience. Between 20-25 hours per week. Ideally this will be a summer internship, that then has the opportunity for a successful student, to potentially become part of an early placement opportunity allowing part of the day for academics, and part of the day doing hands on learning. We firmly believe that a student’s academics take priority, and will work with the student to be flexible to accommodate school needs, and school events, first and foremost. The student would be mentored by a former MCCC All-stars (now F.I.T. All-Stars) in our CNC department in producing high volume, high precision, safety critical transmission parts for some of the largest OEM automotive manufacturers. These pieces are produced on multi-axis CNC lathes and feature Fanuc systems. These parts are safety critical and involve a high degree of accuracy, so the student must be committed to excellence and attention to detail. Quality inspection of parts is mission critical. The student will be directly involved in all aspects of quality, including but not limited to the use of; optical comparators, interior micrometers, calipers, plug and thread gauges. Valuable experience in an advanced and integrated computer-based enterprise resource (ERP) system will also be attained as part of a thorough stream lined process.
