From location to location, we serve with pride and dignity. Must be flexible and able to engage at a moment's notice. Pay is a percentage of trip based on mileage.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and respectful Mortuary Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for the safe and dignified transportation of deceased individuals from homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other locations to the funeral home or mortuary. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Perform removals and transportation of deceased individuals in a timely and respectful manner
Operate company vehicles safely, following all traffic laws and company policies
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport vehicles and equipment
Assist with transferring remains using proper lifting techniques and equipment
Complete required documentation accurately (removal forms, logs, etc.)
Coordinate with funeral directors, coroners, hospitals, and families as needed
Participate in on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to lift and move up to 150+ lbs with assistance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations
Must pass background check and drug screening
