Cyber Security Specialist - Job Description

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cyber Security Specialist to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting our organization's digital assets from cyber threats, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information systems.



Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, using software and tools to identify and respond to threats.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and encryption technologies.
• Investigate security incidents and provide detailed reports with recommendations.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology solutions.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security compliance across all systems.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on cybersecurity awareness and practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.
• Proven experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security roles.
• Strong understanding of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with SIEM tools and threat intelligence platforms.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.
• Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
