We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Category Manager to lead the development and execution of category strategies that drive business growth, optimize supply chain operations, and maximize profitability. In this role, you will oversee supplier relationships, analyze market trends, and implement innovative sourcing solutions across multiple product categories.

Compensation:

$85,000 - $100,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive category strategies aligned with overall business objectives, focusing on growth opportunities and cost efficiencies.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management, to secure optimal terms and quality standards.
  • Conduct detailed market research using tools like Nielsen data to identify trends, demand patterns, and competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, logistics, and product management to coordinate product development, pricing strategies, and inventory planning.
  • Utilize supply chain analytics and SQL-based data mining techniques to analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and demand forecasts for informed decision-making.
  • Lead negotiations on contracts with vendors and suppliers to establish favorable terms while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Oversee logistics operations related to inventory control, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring efficient supply chain flow.
  • Implement process improvements using project management methodologies to streamline procurement workflows and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Monitor financial performance, including profit & loss analysis, to ensure category profitability targets are met or exceeded.
  • Use data visualization tools to present insights on sales analysis, pricing strategies, and market trends for executive review.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in category management or procurement within a fast-paced retail or e-commerce environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, including logistics, inventory control, and demand planning.
  • Expertise in using Nielsen or similar market research tools for data collection and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability in supplier management, contract negotiation, and vendor sourcing strategies.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, SQL databases, and data visualization software for analytics purposes.
  • Excellent financial acumen with experience in profit & loss analysis, pricing models, and financial forecasting.
  • Skilled in project management with a track record of leading process improvements across complex supply chains.
  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and strategic planning discussions.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets for sales insights using data mining techniques; familiarity with supply chain analytics is a plus.
